Over 250 applications for the program were submitted and evaluated by community peer review teams led by gay and bisexual men, people living with HIV, people who use drugs, sex workers and transgender people. This process helped organizers ensure that the 32 selected sessions constitute a program that is diverse, innovative, and accountable to  communities.

All sessions will be made available in English, Spanish, French, Russian, and Portuguese.

HIV2020 Online will be key population-led, inter-disciplinary, sex positive, and will reflect messages of affinity, intersectionality, and solidarity. Sessions will range from topics such as increasing funding for community-led responses to HIV to linking HIV with broader health and human rights movements. Most importantly, the event is committed to reaffirming the leading role communities play in the global HIV response.

In addition to the central program, each of the leading organizations will be hosting virtual pre-meetings in the month of June to align advocacy for our communities ahead of July’s kick-off event. A wide range of community art exhibitions and virtual performances will be featured as part of the conference as well. Stay tuned for upcoming highlights and announcements soon!
