At the end of March AFEW International launched safespot.online, a new website on sexually transmitted infections (STIs), serving individuals across Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. Since its debut last month, the website is quickly gaining popularity, providing a trusted platform for information and support on STIs.

Open conversations and reliable resources on STI’s are very important, that is why SafeSpot’s website is dedicated to empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their sexual health. Containing up-to-date and culturally sensitive information on STIs in English and Russian languages (with an option of auto-translate into other languages), the website offers a directory of trusted organizations and contacts in each country, connecting users with local assistance and support services.

“Since its launch at the end of March, SafeSpot.online has welcomed almost 3000 visitors from 8 countries across the region,” comments Olga Shel, Communications Lead at AFEW International. “With the invaluable support of our partners in these countries, information about SafeSpot.online has been swiftly localised and disseminated among key populations through various channels, including closed groups on Telegram, social media platforms, and directly to outreach workers and clients“.

“Recognizing the diverse needs of specific key groups in these countries, we have initiated collaborations with Grindr, one of the world’s largest social networking app. These collaborations aim not only to provide information about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) but also to connect individuals with organizations that can address their sexual health concerns”.

We extend an invitation to everyone to explore our website and make use of the resources available. Whether you are seeking prevention tips, testing options, or support networks, SafeSpot is here to guide you every step of the way. We also encourage individuals to share information about the website with their networks, spreading awareness and building a community dedicated to sexual health education and empowerment.
