The Regional Collaborating Committee on Accelerated Response to Tuberculosis, HIV, and Viral Hepatitis (RCC-THV) of the WHO Regional Office for Europe encourages stakeholders to actively participate and widely promote a series of hearings that will help shape the Second European Programme of Work (EPW2) for 2026–2030.
These hearings will play a crucial role in developing a regional document that will form the foundation for the European Work Plan, setting health priorities for the next five years. This initiative is particularly important given the current landscape of emergencies, conflicts, competing priorities, and limited resources.
Why Participate?
These hearings present a unique opportunity to ensure that critical health issues such as tuberculosis (TB), HIV, hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and communicable diseases are firmly embedded in the European regional health agenda. By participating, you can help shape a comprehensive and inclusive health strategy that responds to the needs of affected communities and stakeholders.
Schedule of Hearings
The hearings will be conducted with Russian interpretation available and will cover the following topics:
Non-communicable diseases and mental health – 22 January;
Aging – 30 January;
Health system of the future – 21 February;
Climate change and environment – 28 February;
Health security – 7 March.
Communicable diseases, particularly TB, HIV, hepatitis, and STIs, will be addressed as cross-cutting issues throughout all five hearings. Each session will feature high-level speeches, followed by breakout discussions, ensuring that a diverse range of perspectives are represented.
Participation in these discussions is encouraged to contribute to the future of healthcare in Europe. Stay engaged and make a difference in setting the regional health agenda for 2026–2030.
