Mahkhali leaders in the Tashkent region in Uzbekistan now know how to work with women in difficult life situations! The public association “Yuksak Salohiyat”, in the framework of the project “Advocating vulnerable groups’ rights through a stronger civil society in Uzbekistan”, conducted training for 60 mahalla leaders on how to work with vulnerable women. Participants gained practical skills in working with women in difficult life situations, as well as knowledge on legal and psychological issues.
For reference
“Advocating vulnerable groups’ rights through a stronger civil society in Uzbekistan” is being implemented by AFEW International, in partnership with “Ishonch va Hayot!” and with financial support from the European Union in Uzbekistan. With the help of this project, we are empowering underserved groups in Uzbekistan, such as people vulnerable to discrimination – women, people with disabilities, people living with or at high risk of HIV and migrants, and protecting their rights and freedoms through strengthening and building local CSOs’ own organisations and capacities, thereby strengthening civil society in Uzbekistan.
