On  World AIDS Day (1 December 2021), join the high-level virtual conference ‘HIV 40 years on: Time to focus now on Health-Related Quality of Life!’ (10:00 – 12:00 CET) organised by HIV Outcomes.  AFEW International is a member of the HIV Outcomes initiative.

Please find the full agenda of the event here.

In the last 40 years, life expectancy has significantly increased for people living with HIV thanks to treatment advances. Unfortunately, they still face stigma, discrimination and the challenge of comorbidities, which altogether prevent them from enjoying the same health-related quality of life (HRQoL) as the general population.

This event aims to highlight the need for an HIV policy shift towards issues beyond viral suppression, to protect and improve the HRQoL of those living with HIV and ensure not just long but also healthy lives for them. This shift is more urgent than ever, as the  COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated and added new health challenges for the HIV population.
