In September AFEW Kyrgyzstan opened “Faith. Hope. Love”, one of the leading rehabilitation centres in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The activities organized in the Rehabilitation center are partly supported through the programme “Bridging the Gaps: Health and Rights for Key Populations”.

AFEW International selected 8 proposals from 5 countries of the Eastern Partnership countries to support community-based organizations in the framework of the EU COVID-19 Solidarity Programme, financed by the European Union. All selected proposals are related to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on key populations.

On the 15th of October, AFEW International organised a virtual visit to the organization for Amsterdam AMC Bachelor medicine students in the framework of Global Health in Action elective education.

September 2020 saw the end of the Journey4life (Dance4life) project in Kazakhstan, which was carried out by AFEW International’s partner, AFEW Kazakhstan. Alexandra Li, a Journey4life project manager at AFEW Kazakhstan, told us about the project and about how important it is to educate young people about the basics of sexual and reproductive health.
