We are happy to share with you the news that in December 2020 AFEW celebrates its 20th anniversary!
20 years ago, on the 1st of December, World AIDS Day, our organization was officially established to promote health and increase the access of key populations to prevention, treatment and care for major public health concerns such as HIV, TB, viral hepatitis, and sexual and reproductive health in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Since then we have carried out many projects, and together with our partners in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Russia, Tajikistan and other countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia we have organized hundreds of events. We linked East and West and introduced the region to the harm reduction approach, and most importantly, we´ve helped thousands of people and changed their lives. Our mission today is to make sure that all people in EECA participate fully and confidently in their health and rights, in an inclusive and just society.
We are proud to be who we are, and we are grateful to all of you! We couldn’t reach our goals without you!
