Rostov regional public organization for the prevention of socially significant diseases “Kovcheg-Anti-AIDS” conducted a study “HIV and labor migrants in the Southern Region”.

This project allowed to establish cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which oversees the detention of migrants for deportation, and provided them with some assistance.

 For the study, an anonymous survey of migrants was conducted and 100 questionnaires were selected, with citizens from 4 post-Soviet states. The majority of respondents were citizens of Ukraine (36%), Tajikistan (29%), Uzbekistan (26%) and Moldova (9%). Among the participants there were 5 people living with HIV (PLHIV), 4 women, 1 man, all from Ukraine.
