Web-based outreach guidelines for people who use drugs
The UNODC Regional Program Office for Eastern Europe (Kiev, Ukraine), in collaboration with the Humanitarian Action Charitable Foundation* (St. Petersburg, Russia), is producing web-based outreach guidelines for people who use drugs (PUD), including people who use new psychoactive substances (NPS).
Web outreach is a method for contacting, counseling, engaging, and retaining PUD in harm reduction programs through websites, social networks, messengers, and specialized forums, including darknet sites.
Recommendations include the following sections: “Defining Web Outreach,” “Goals and Objectives of Web Outreach,” “Tools and Principles of Web Outreach,” “Description of Web Outreach Methodology,” etc. The document also contains a number of appendices, including “Web Outreach Performance Indicators,” “Web Outreach Worker Report Form,” and “Harm Reduction Checklists for People Who Use Psychostimulants.”
You can download the guidelines from UNODC’s official website: https://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/hiv-aids/new/publications_drugs.html
They are also available in Russian and English at NPS-Info.org: https://nps-info.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/recommendoutreachru.pdf
