Annual Report 2001/2002
Knowledge Centre
The Knowledge Centre will enable AFEW to adequately manage and transfer knowledge
and information to all relevant parties in the East and the West. It will also
serve as a link between networks, information centres, and other expert resources.
A database, library and website are tools which have been developed in 2002
to further this goal.
The Knowledge Centre also includes an Epidemiology Department, which is developing
a new research strategy, focussing for the next three years on operational research
and impact measurement of programmes. The Knowledge Centre will create links
to recognised international and domestic research groups.
The Knowledge Centre further includes an Information and Materials Development
Department. This department is responsible for the quality control of all materials
produced by AFEW and the proper translation and editing of all AFEW publications.
